Step back and enjoy a paper honoring a tradition of over 1,000 years of natural paper making.

Handmade lokta paper comes from lokta bushes which grow naturally in the Himalayan mountains of Nepal. When cut properly, the bushes can regrow quickly, making a renewable source for the paper.

The fibrous inner bark of the lokta is cooked in water until the fibers separate into a mash which is then spread by hand across boxed screens.

The process joins the fibers together, forming the paper sheet in the Himalayan sunshine. Each sheet is unique due to the handmade process and contains natural flecks from the outer bark.

This process has remained very close to the same for over 1,000 years. Thank you for supporting such a tradition!
